At Yealm Kitchens we are proud to have a dedicated team of designers, craftsmen and fitters who work closely together to produce and deliver excellent, high quality kitchens and furniture.
Jo O-Brien – Managing Director
Yealm Kitchens was started by Jo’s stepfather in his shed in the back garden at his home in Newton Ferrers. By 1992, the business had expanded and the showroom and workshop was acquired. Jo took over the business from his stepfather in 2000. Jo is passionate about the business and takes pride in focusing on the customer and customer satisfaction. Jo is involved in all areas of the business and has a ‘hands on’ hard working business ethic.
Matt Stirling – Designer & Business Development Manager
State of the art computer aided design is undertaken by Designer and Business Development Manager, Matt Stirling. Matt joined Yealm Kitchens in 2012 and is a former Aerospace Design and Application Engineer, so when they say kitchen design is ‘not rocket science’, it might just be! Yealm Kitchens design work is conducted to combine a perfect match between form, function and aesthetic splendor. Matt enjoys the design process and finding innovative solutions to meet client needs. In addition to design and alongside other team members, Matt oversees the sales, marketing and development of the business.
Lucy Chiswell – Office Manager & Designer
Lucy joined the team in July 2014 as administrator to support Jo and Matt but soon discovered she had a flair for design and an eagerness to become involved across the business. Lucy manages the office and administration of the business but also designs kitchens in addition to Matt. Lucy creates the final rendered imagery using a mixture of colour, lighting and textures to ensure each customer receives a true visual look at their specially crafted, handmade kitchen.
Yealm Kitchens Craftsmen & Fitters
Jo manages an experienced and dedicated team of multi-skilled craftsmen at Yealm Kitchens including wood machinists, bench joiners, sprayers and fitters. With a spray room based at the premises, they hand-spray kitchens and furniture to produce that unique look and feel. The workshop is equipped with a new ‘top of the range’ drilling machine alongside edge banding machines and panel saws. Combining traditional and modern techniques and all based from the onsite workshop, kitchens and furniture is produced to exact customer requirements.
